Our group is carrying out research into the use of patient-reported data to assess the quality of healthcare delivered in the English National Health Service. Research has been carried out to estimate participation in the national PROMs programme, to assess equity of access and outcomes from surgery, to develop methods for measuring performance and to incorporate views of patients and clinicians on how to present the data. Cost-effectiveness analyses have compared different types of surgical implant and work is ongoing to compare brands.
